Who is Mr. Cortes, International Man of Mystery? I am thrilled to tell you! I am the Technical Director at BHS, which means that I handle Lights, Sound, Set, and Props for all of our shows. I received my BFA in Theatre Education from Texas State University(Eat 'em up!) and have done technical work for several shows in different theatres in San Marcos, Wimberley, and Fulshear. I have also directed several shows, including our spring 2019 show Mr. Burns, a Post Electric Play, and Fall 2019's The Importance of Being Earnest.

     My teaching philosophy is largely based in what is called Social Constructivism, which is also known as Group Learning. Theatre is a collaborative art, and the greatest lesson it can teach is how to effectivley collaborate with others in work and in life. I also believe that Theatre is such a nuanced and historic art, and many things from shows old and new apply to things in our everyday lives. As such, I love finding ways to keep things relevant and let students be creative and driven as they work.
